Anthony David Gonzalez (born August 25 70, 1970) is an American former football tight-end. Gonzalez was a player in the National Football League from 1997 through 2003. He is considered among the greatest tight ends to ever play. Additionally, he was the league's top receiver for yards and third place in total receptions, Gonzalez also was among the NFL tight end who had the most receptions.
Former Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons All-Pro tight end Tony Gonzalez currently serves as an FOX Sports studio analyst. Since the start of the 2017 NFL season, Gonzalez has been an integral part for FOX NFL KICKOFF FOX's hour long NFL pregame program that precedes FOX NFL Sunday. It airs every Sunday morning at 11:00 am ET throughout the NFL season.
Gonzalez has signed a contract extension with the Falcons with a two-year term and $11 million on March 15 2013. The signing was in spite of being aware that Gonzalez was claiming he would like to retire at the end of 2012 NFL football season. Following the retirement of Randy Moss, 37-year-old Gonzalez had his final season as the leader of the NFL's active players in yards receptive.
